Ep. #166 - Using Manual Focus When It's Too Dark for Auto
This week Steve tells a story about using manual focus with live view when it was too dark for his autofocus to work. It was hell. Dustin talks about video lights and we wonder if he's even a photographer anymore. We talk about some Canon, Sony, and Fuji Fast Glass stuff. Also, 'They Took Our Jobs!' That's right! We have an in depth and intelligent discussion of the new Skylum software coming out, Luminar AI, that isn't just Steve trying to get Dustin to repeat a line from South Park while Dustin clearly has no idea what Steve is talking about. It's very intelligent. Also, Steve explains Dorian Grey to Dustin, kind of...

Ep. #165 - What is an Associate Photographer?
What is an associate photographer? Is it okay to put out random requests for an associate photographer on Facebook? What should you do to train an associate photographer? We talk about associate photographers for quite some time... and also about new scams and hoaxes on the internet. Hey, here's a crazy idea.

Ep. #164 - Pandemic Wedding Photos Being Used as Evidence
This week we're talking about the possibility of your photos being used as evidence in a court of law. That's right, if you take photos of people not social distancing or not wearing masks during the coronavirus pandemic, there's a possibility you could be served a warrant and forced to turn over your photos. Which we're all for. We're also talking about how Nikon should leave the camera industry, Kodak's insider trading scandal, Instagram spam, and photographers losing clients because they support Black Lives Matter. We also take a trip to the drone zone and Dustin shares a story of a recent crash and we talk about the impact of drones on wildlife.

Ep. #163 - Riding on the Edge of a Snap with Ulices Del Toro
This week's episode is a little weird. First off, it's explicit. Don't listen to it at work or in front of your kids. Second off, we didn't have time to record this week, so instead of leaving everyone hanging we're putting up some segments from some of our Patreon episodes to give people an idea of what the Patreon content is like. So, if you're already on the Patreon, sorry.

Ep. #162 - Overheating Issues with Ulices Del Toro of the Wedding Photo Podcast
This week Dustin and Steve have their friend Ulices Del Toro back on the podcast to form the Blue Shirt Boys group and also to talk about some gear that Sony put out. Like that amazing CF Express type A card and corresponding card reader. Or those new touch screen menus that Sony made. Or those hybrid card slots they created... and yes, I guess we get around to talking about the new Sony a7S III. We solve the overheating issues that both the Sony a7S III and the Canon EOS R5 are experiencing while shooting outside, with one cool product Sony put out that isn't even camera related. We also talk about the photographer that tracked down a couple getting married on the Brooklyn Bridge (to chorus) to give them a photo. We discuss whether or not you should be allowed to skip out on a wedding if people aren't wearing masks or social distancing. We also discuss Kodak's pivot to pharmaceuticals and GoPro's pivot to being a lifestyle brand. Then we talk about the improved eye autofocus on the Canon EOS R5 and Canon EOS R6 and there's a Nikon z5 coming out which will have dual card slots.

Ep. #161 - Unsplash and Drone Photos with Josh Withers of the Rebel's Guide to Getting Married
This week Steve is joined by Josh Withers of the Rebel's Guide to Getting Married. Steve and Josh talk about COVID-19 cancellations, unsplash, and drone photos. They also talk about facial manipulation in photos that people do to get those big beautiful anime eyes, just like Josh's eyes in the episode art (which is definitely not a horrifically photoshopped image that Steve made with a photo of Josh's from Unsplash). Steve and Josh also talk about laminar, anthropics, and AI editors. Josh also shares about how to get great audio when you're shooting video (which is always a struggle... I mean, listen to the disclaimer at the beginning of the episode). There's also an adorable guest at the end of the show, but you'll have to watch the video if you want to be blown away by how cute Luna Withers is.

Ep. #160 - Stranger Sessions During a Pandemic and Anti-Masker Weddings
Grab your mask, Ray Bans, and fishing hat. It's time to go full Bernie. This week we've got updates on the Copper Stallion Media story and also on the Shoot and Share controversy. We're talking Godox flashes and their iPhone app and then we're talking a lot about stranger sessions, which are super controversial right now because of the pandemic. Steve goes full grumpy old man. We're also talking about the Canon Eos R5 overheating issues (are there any?) and about the new Blackmagic 12k video camera. We also talk about the controversies with Hustle and Flow and the Do More Photographers group.
